This is the ‘Manual car gearbox versus Double-clutch / PDK’ argument. But for 2 human powered wheels - not four petroleum fuelled ones……
I’m old school. And have had ‘numerous’ performance orientated, manual gearbox cars.
And it’s the same when my bike gears go out of sync, the chain comes off or the drive-train makes a horrific grinding noise. Not only do I like to see it. I also like to get grease under my fingernails trying to sort it - AND be able to feel the graunching / vibrations / mechanical woes happening in real time via an old school cable.
None of this wireless mumbo-jumbo here 😉
Jokes aside. I’ve got a buddy who road races at National level (3rd place in the 3rd event of this years Calendar a few weeks ago); and I saw one of his Strava ‘ride reports’ saying a broken CABLE held him back. I was shocked 😳
