Well back to the MB issue I’m afraid. I thought it was going to be Jan' before they start it. Grrrrrrrr. Tonight something riding an extension of his small penis beeps at me to get out of the way even though I'm in the bus lane overtaking a slow moving cyclist! I looked and checked no one was behind me, all I saw was a small light which I take to be a cyclist and when I start pulling back in after completing my overtake, this, the word I want to use will get me banned, starts beeping at me to get out the way because he wants to pass. It's going to be a killing field out there - mark my words. There should be a sweepstake to see how long it takes before a cyclist is killed.

Just as I was raging about this, a car pulled out in front of me and nearly side swiped me! so gave his car a thump and a rant! First time I’ve ever lost it like that. Apologies.

Hope i have clips to come, but night filming on my cam not too good.

Look forward to seeing the footage. I had to warn a car coming out of a drive not to pull out in front of me a few weeks back with my airzound. The car in the lane next to the bus lane had signalled him across so he decided not to look. I stopped and had a bit of a rant but didn't thump his car. The situation didn't really merit it but sometimes situations do!

Glad you're okay. What did the driver say?

driver said nothing, prob could not speak english. I just smacked the back of it as he pulled out and nearly got me. hindsight it may have been a over reaction, like i say i've never done anything like that and was shocked when i saw someone banging the back of someones car becusae he went through a red light and blocked the yellow criss crossed box. The guy got out and thought he was going to murder the cyclist.

climbing a steep hill yesterday eyeballs out panting fit to burst and some idiot passes me so close I thought he couldn't have seen me at all.
Just had enough puff to shout a suitable pair of expletives.

It really is dangerous out there. I have ridden 8 Sundays in a row and I cannot remeber a single ride where I haven't felt my life seriously threatened by some driver's stupidity or negligence.

Its no fun cycling anymore

Not just motorbikes....... riding down the width restricted road, with speed humps, that leads to my house.... riding in primary through the width restrictions (anti truck type - weak bridge) and can hear a car behind. I'm probably doing 18 to 20 (in a 20 zone) as I'm about to turn right. As I come through the last restriction I signal right and remain where the white centre line would be, signal right again, then as I'm about to turn, the car's light beam pattern is on the opposite side of the road - the idiot is driving down the wrong side just to overtake....

Shouted 'Kn** head' so loudly that some poor fella walking down the road jumped out of his skin...Blooming great.... !

Heard tonight that one of the dads whose kids at our Beaver group had been knocked off on the way home - bike smashed, but he's OK...

Be careful out there !

Perhaps there's something in the air at the moment - I was overtaken by a skipwagon who was in the path of an oncoming car, then he left hooked and braked so hard he skidded (as we were approaching a T-junction) missing me by not much. I'm going into the plant hire site in the morning to talk to the transport manager.

jeez, i bet this is what it was like for the fighter pilots in WWII just before they flew out, you knew some would not be coming back, good luck out there people!!!

It is getting worse, driving (yes driving as my bike was crushed) home tonight had to beep some bloke hurtling along in his car with no lights and on his mobile, it seems like most drivers have just lost it completely these last few weeks !

I'm still of the opinion that its people that do stuff like this, not drivers. I reckon that when at home, most folk don't piss all over the seat or not flush - but visit almost any public lav in the country. Someone is leaving them in a right state.

Ask most people do they talk on the phone whilst driving, and they'll say no, they're a careful driver. And they probably mean it - they would be if it wasn't for that urgent call or because everyone else is driving fast they've got to keep up with the flow of traffic.

Cyclists do it too. I've heard one fellow expunge how he's always following the rules of the road - then the next time I see him he's just bunny-hopping onto a pavement to shoot past a line of traffic.

Not condoning the behaviour in any way shape or form, I'm just not of the opinion that segregating individuals into 'drivers' and 'cyclists' really serves a huge amount of purpose.

i guess not, but a lot of people are drivers too and i'm sure like most other people on here, if im in a car, then i tend to give cyclists a lot more room then i previously would have - when not commuting to work on a bike
