Been there seen that & in a car you're stuffed, on a bike you're not.

Seriously. You're small maneuverable vehicle which is capable of fairly aggressive maneuvering as long as you don't hit the brakes hard v's a large vehicle which is incapable of aggressive changes in direction.

The theory works as long as you are aware and ready to take evasive manouvers.
A car travelling at 30mph covers 30ft per second. That is roughly covering the width of an average carriageway in half a second. Now they aren't neccessarily going to be perpendicular to the road, but can still cross that line quickly into your space.

When you hear/see anyone traveling quickly when it's slippery it's time to start planning exit strategies ASAP regardless of transport method. On a bike you have far more available exit strategies. One of the fundmental basics of traveling in bad conditions.
