Well I managed to lose a few quid yesterday... Put money on Lotus scoring points! Ahh well, maybe at Silverstone!?

As for the comments about letting faster cars pass, it was clear who pays DC!

Good to see Lewis still at the top of the pile, and that Alonso is just such an angry and sour idiot. Even if Lewis did do it on purpose, which I actually doubt, it's gamesmanship and Alonso wants us to believe that he wouldn't stitch anyone up like that. Hmmm History suggests otherwise.

Bring on Silverstone and let's hope the McLaren boys do us proud! Can't wait for the BGP.

Very pleased it is at Silverstone too, one of the greats.

Let's hope Mark doesn't try to demonstrate the Red Bull slogan again!

Is anyone going to Silverstone for the GP? I'll be there with the kids for the weekend, we're hiring a campervan, so bring on the rain! (last time I went was 2008 and it chucked it down all weekend and my tent didn't do a good job!)

I'll be there again this year... First year I went (2 years ago) I was working, manning the media entrance over night so I could watch the racing. It was so hot though I managed under 5 hour sleep in my tent over the 3 days! But the rain came on race day, which produced a fantastic race. Last year I just paid up and made the 25 minute drive there each day. This year will be the same, can't wait!

One tip I would give is to take your own food if you're not wanting to spend too much. The prices are pretty crazy! Also, if you have tickets for a particular stand then don't sit in the same stand for the practice and qualifying days, move around and see other parts of the track. Get over to famous corners, like Club and Vale, or Maggotts which is the fastest corner and maybe even the pit straight to see what's going on in the garages.

Be careful who you sit near! There is nothing more annoying than having a muppet with a huge umbrella and/or flag next to you or even worse in front of you!

Ear plugs. Also if you're going on your own go by bike + train. If not you'll be fine in the car if you're patient.

definilty realy early (eg.when the gates open or 5am if i renember rightly) or you will end up halfway down hangar staight, 10ft from the bridge (before it) where you are very unlikely to see any action!

The best places to go for are copse (1st corner), but you have to go a bit furter down towards maggots now (still a good place to go), or if you are the other side of the circiut, you could try the vale viewng area, club isnt so great, but ocasianly the lower formulas have so good action here, and especialy in the wet (probaly not this weekend!)

I used to head for Chaple on the old circuit. As that bit hasn't been changed, I presume it is still a fairly good place to stand.

A good performance by Hamilton and Button yesterday at Silverstone, it shows that both the drivers and McClaren are going to be fighting right to the end of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was surprised by the pace of Hamilton & Button, they really did drive well (and it hurts me to compliment Hamilton!). Biggest disappointment of the weekend was Lotus. Although they knew the circuit wasn't ideal for the car, I got the feeling that they were expecting a better result. We were fortunate enough to be guests of the team, so watched the race from the hospitality suite, and the mood wasn't great....

Nice to see things are so cosy at Red Bull though! Someone is going to have to sort the team out quickly, otherwise they'll stand no chance of winning this year.

Yesterday showed up yet again one of the unfair things about F1.

Weber was miles out in front and Vettel was completely out of the race, almost a lap behind.

The out pops the safety car, everyone gets bunched up, Webber has to stretch out his lead again and Vettel is back in the race. and in the top ten! This makes the whole race out to be a lottery and not "racing" at all.

Is it beyond the wit of the FIA to introduce a system whereby, when the SC is deployed the time gaps between cars are recorded and then re-applied when the SC goes in? It seems such an obvious thing to do so why isn't it?

At least its not as bad as the American series, where they seem to bring out the safety car for no reason other than to bunch the cars up to promote overtaking! I do think that in recent years the safety car has been deployed when the problem could've been covered with waved yellows.

Although I'm not convinced that they didn't do that at Monaco this year with the "suspected loose drain cover" incident.

Yes, American racing notoriously has mysterious "debris on track" moments to bunch up the cars a bit. And it works. I was watching a very dull race at Rockingham Speedway. 3/4 of the way through, they had to remove some "debris". Now you can see the whole track from the stands there, and neither I nor anyone around me could see any debris. Last 1/4 of the race was really exciting.

Still, its a crude and unfair fiddle.
