But then it's not racing, it's no better than pro wrestling that is nothing more than a stage act.

There's obviously no technical reason why the inter-car time gaps can't be recorded when the SC is deployed and reapplied when the SC goes in and there's no logical reason why it shouldn't happen.

It's just one example of the many reasons why F1 has lost more and more of my attention over the past couple of decades.

I thought it was great, safety car or not. (And on that subject, I think it's just the luck of the draw, and there's no denying it can make a dull race better by bunching up the pack. But I agree that it'd be a shame if they started bringing out the safety car solely to do this.) It was really, really good to see Webber give the Red Bull team a big "F**k you!" in such style. Speaking of which ... http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/webber-to-start-next-race-in-a-'98-punto-201007122898/

I never liked the safety car thing and I believe it is over-used and unfair to anyone who has built a big lead.

But it keeps the TV companies happy as they no longer need to red flag and restart a race and muck up the TV schedules for the afternoon.

Watched silverstone, really pleased the circuit is back on calendar and what a good crowd.
Agree with the comments about Red Bull, its their championshipship to loose. They have a great car, but do seem to be making a hrd job of it sometimes. Think Lewis drove the wheels off his car and Jenson did a good job as well. Flying the flag for the Brits, but i wouldn't at all mind if Mark Webber won this year. He's driving really well this year and is a great character, like his aussie spirit.
When asked about his performance when he put his Jag on front row a few years ago( i think), his reply was ' fair dinkum'. ;)

First practice was entertaining! Seem like Schumi has issues again... The "rain meister" running slower than almost everyone else!

I watched the coverage on the BBC red button, and it was nice to hear Karun Chandhoks insight into the running.

I don't particularly care about the team orders, it's part of racing, it's always been there and rightly so in my opinion. What i'm annoyed about is how the team seem to take everyone for idiots by claiming it didn't happen. Good race though, entertaining.

As things ended up as they did they could have quite easily given Alonso a 5s penalty. Loved Eddie Jordan afterwards, that was fantastic, one of the funniest things since when they were filming a documentary years ago about him and Michael Schumacher just happened to ring up and complain.

As for ferrari's tactics being the right thing? A potentially demotivated Massa, when it's clear he's back is not actually good for Ferrari, if the car is indeed as good as the Spanish Whinger pronounces at every opportunity they should also be going for the Constructors too and today's result shoots themselves in the foot in that respect.
