Your rant on safety a while back when you were twisting other people's words.

Bring a constructive argument to the table yourself. I'm well prepared to listen to your view if you can be prepared to think for yourself rather than parroting other people as I've said, so kindly bother to read F1 history and list ten examples to back up your case. Driver, team, race, year. Let's see if you're up to the challenge...
Oh yes, the post where I was intentionally looking for an argument? I remember it, I don't think it was my knowledge of history which was at fault, more my intentions... I came out with the dates and incidents, using them to produce an inflammatory post in the hope of conjuring up some sort of reaction.

Sounds like a good challenge, i'll get onto it straight after my 8 hours working in a dull, dank, boring warehouse. So that'll be about 6 am then.

Why not? You're quite happy to insult my subject when talking about dull, dank, boring warehouses in the past? You obviously don't find F1 history interesting. Not a crime, just strange you should be so keen to use it as an argument in a thread.

Fair enough, good for you mate. I'm working nights in a warehouse and find it dreadfully dull, i find my mind racing off trying to find some sort of exercise. I work out mathematical equations whilst picking etc... It's hard to have a stimulating conversation with people from Latvia who only speak basic English... The managers arnt any better, mine is as thick as a plank, but still insists on treating me like an idiot due to me working for an agency. If my mate wasn't working there as well it would be horrible.

He's a very naughty boy. Only catrike and srw can stoop to such lows.

What ARE you talking about? I said I couldn't reply at the time due to heading into work, but it gave me something to think about during the tedious work! You seem to have some issues here, why do you feels the need to get so worked up? Why take the time to go through threads in PnL to find that random comment, of which I'm not even sure what you're trying to prove? Jeez some people are funny, so odd.

1957 British Grand Prix: Won by Sterling Moss, although had to retire on lap 21 due to car faults, his team mate then came into the pits to give over his car so Moss, who went on to win the Championship, in Britain, in a British car, the first time this ever happened. This is a classic case of team orders, where both drivers are driving for the good of the team, instead of the individual.

There were many cases aroun dhe same period where drivers even got out of their car's to let a team mate take the win!

1986 Austrian Grand Prix: The cars lined up on the grid, Derek Warwick had to get out of his car so the team could wheel it forwards for Riccardo Patrese to use, as his car had broken down on the way to the start line!

It was only during the 90's when issues of team orders were looked upon in a negative manor, even though there had been hundreds of cases up to that point. In races such as the 1997 European Grand Prix, remember that collision between Schumacher and Villeneuve, the media went crazy when it was alleged that the crash was intentional. Williams and McLaren were colluding against Farrari!

I seriously can't believe you are debating whether team orders have been aparent throughout the history of F1, just amazing. This post is long enough I think, your strange outbursts earlier about me not finding F1 history very interesting', which is a preposterous statement to make, have lost some of my interest from this thread.

I look forwards to your balanced response.

I agree that team orders have always been part of the sport but I feel the need to correct you here. Moss never won a F1 world championship. The '57 championship was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in the Maserati 250F. I think it was the previous season that Fangio won the title using his team mate's car (Peter Collins I think or maybe Tony Brooks). They were driving Ferrari's as well....

Good point, not sure why i've always though Moss won it that year, but just checked online and you're right. He came 2nd and 3rd so many times I though he had to have won it at some point!

**Headshake** oh well at least you put some kind of effort in, points for trying as they say.

I didn't take a great deal of time going through threads in P&L, I remember it well and got very angry at the time.

Just a note to let you all know I'm going to unstick this thread in a few days time.

When I was initially asked to stick the thread I hadn't realised how long the season lasted - I'd only expect it to be a matter of a couple of months ... lol

If you want to bookmark it, click the Watch Topic button at the top of the page or just click here.

Cheers,
Shaun

Got very angry at the time? What about? Meh I think you know very well that i'm right, to be honest those are the only major ones i know much detail about, there are many more. Why all this hostility? I honestly don't even remember talking to you on these boards, then again I don't remember many names.
