Grrrrr I was really looking to get some decent miles in this weekend as the weather's been great ,but as lady luck would have it ,I've ended up coming down with some bug :=(. Sitting here at home watching all the mountain bikers and roadies coming past my house and heading off into the wilderness has left me a little peeved. I hope you all a good time who ever you are.
I often get bad migraines, to the point my vision becomes impaired and end up with a sick bucket by the side of my. Out of all the aches, pains and health problems I've suffered over the years, a bloody migraine has always been the worst to put up with.
I always find the next day after suffering a migraine I will feel very light headed and not quite with it. I feel very much "spaced out" today , so the bike and car have been left well alone.
Tomorrow's another day and will hopefully will feel better.

Migraines are nasty things. I get them now and again. They literally make me see stars and feels as if my eye's are going to burst from their sockets.
Feel for you Johnny.

There horrible things to suffer from. I've kind of wised up to as to knowing when one is about to strike nowadays. At night I will tend to suffer from recurring dreams , almost like a record that's got stuck. When I wake up I can almost guarantee I've got the start of an migraine. I've narrowed the cause of them down to too much dairy products" namely milk". I drink far much milk sometimes, and I usually pay the price for it. It's the day after though that the effects are still there. I'm really punch drunk after a bad migraine and don't feel safe to use the car or bike.

I used to have loads of migraines but taking feverfew totally cured me. I am not a big believer in natural cures but this seemed to work brilliantly and they worked as a preventative instead of a poor cure.

I've never heard of that before. I will do a quick google to learn more. I,ll try anything to get shot of this menace.

Feel for you on both fronts, don't get migraines as frequently as I used to but they plagued my early to mid twenties, sometimes full blown migraines and sometimes silent/ocular migraines (all of the vomiting and visual disturbances but minimal to no headache).

I've barely made it out on the bike but due to being overworked. Brought my bike down to peacehaven/Newhaven hoping to test ride new frame on the hills heading to Brighton and back, but I've just not managed it. Have been restoring a static caravan chassis before the owner gets chucked off site, hours on end clambering under it chipping all of the old paint and flaky rust of. Then today I've been lugging stupidly heavy metal girders into place and welding in horrible cramped conditions.

The one little window I had, a crazy sea mist descened on us and couldn't see more than a foot ahead so gave up. Got to do the ride from Wimbledon to Marylebone on my way back to brum tonight which was fun at least but not the same and only 35-40min.

Hopefully will get more of a chance when back down next week but cant see the weather being as good!!!

I used to suffer bad from migraine's too in my youth, often blacking out. This seemed to culminate with some epileptic fits but touch wood that's all behind me now. It might be a coincidence but I started wearing glasses when they stopped.
I must admit my eyesight is not as good as it was. I've now starting wearing reading glasses at work using the computer , and feel there getting progressively worse. Time for a trip to spec savers and some open wallet surgery unfortunately

I've stopped riding for a while hoping the squiffy knees clear up.
It's awful watching everyone else riding.

FWIW I take soluble paracetamol seltzer and drink a small bottle of diet coke whenever the flashy eyes start.
My migraines used to be 6 hours of agony, but with this trick it's stopped in its tracks and I just feel fuzzy for the rest of the day.
