Well that's me just completed a year without a drop of booze. And just over 500 days without a fag. I have no desire to re-start either vice.



Now if I can just get a grip on the crack habit....

I'm not actually missing it yet. Sleeping well is the best bonus from not drinking I think plus generally feeling more positive about life.

I had laser eye surgery on Monday, have been blinky and tired all week and could murder a pint to celebrate. But I will abstain until Easter.

I am going to the rugby tomorrow to (hopefully) see Ulster beat Biarritz in the Heineken Cup. But I will abstain.

I have been sleeping too lightly for a fortnight now and can remeber every single detail. I'm confused - why are we doing this again?

Good luck with that. When I'm not following London Irish, I tend to follow Munster (wife's family are from Limerick) but it's good to see any team get one over on the French.

As a kid my Dad used to drag me along to see London Irish play ... I can still vaguely remember the pitch and stand (with a bar ? at the top?), we are talking about the 1970's or early 80's. I know they have long since moved and probably had done up the stand before that.

Am I allowed to start late and only abstain during the weekdays ... I've decided (since the New Year) that I had been getting in the habit of having a drink in a evening so I've decided to cut down and only drink at weekends for a while.

I was given a course of tablets to take in October and told not to drink until they were finished. They were finished within a month but I've not bothered having a drink since then either so will now probably stay TT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Due to having Acute Pancreatitis in 2008, I've had to give up booze for the rest of my life! 19 months so far, still miss it.
