I can recommend B&Q own brand paint. Not inexpensive, but cheaper than the posh brands and IMHO the coverage and finish are easily as good.

But you can't boast about B&Q like you can about F&B.

Paint is expensive in France, end of. It's one of the few things that all UK immigrants here will agree on! That said, you can find buckets of cheap(ish) non-brand generic paints in the bricos.

BricoDepot is part of the same group (Kingfisher) that owns Screwfix and B&Q and can be worth a look if price is a a prime consideration.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Everything DIY has shot up in price. The price of price of wood is nothing short of extortionate. Paint, paint brushes etc are no exception

If their paint is expensive for them it doesn't bother me. I can forgive them as long they produce Camembert and blue D'Auvergne and sell it to us at a reasonable price.

Smear it on the walls and in a short time you get an interesting decorative effect.
