Ok so l haven't needed buy decorator type paint for quite some time but now that we have bought our ancient farmhouse here in France l have to freshen it up a bit. So l bought a 12 Ltr can of white paint to give the plastered interior walls of a couple of rooms the once over, Price of paint was €145 inc tax so in pounds sterling that would be roughly £127 . Since l have lived in France for well over ten years l've lost touch with UK prices but it seems a lot of cash for vinyl emulsion paint !
Any thoughts ?

Bog standard white vinyl matt was £32 for 5ltrs at at Wickes yesterday. But fortunately for me there was a huge stack of Crown white vinyl matt by the entrance at £10 for 5ltrs^_^ Right place right time.:okay:
I now have to get a load of coloured paint for the walls. From what I saw and depending on the make and quality you want thats going to be anything from £40 to £80 for 5 ltrs.
I like Little Greene paint but thats coming in at £99.

Paint has always been more expensive in Europe.
Now the irony is that very little paint is made in the UK.
Who owns ICI paints?

The price is just us being harmonised with Europe

Used to love Wilko's paint but it went downhill 2 or 3 years ago so using B&Q now. Not keen on any of the "big" brands, ie Dulux or Crown, Wickes can be okay but I've had some naff ones from them as well. Haven't had to buy any for a while, usually 2.5 ltrs is enough which I get for £20ish,
