Goo they are good wheels, just tricky getting spokes.....but TBH, given the numbers of these wheels on the roads, the LBS's should have stocks.....

They are very good wheels and I love them. They changed the ride quality on my bike for the better, and have survived a high-speed ramming into the back of a car (the front wheel is STILL perfectly true !).

I was just unlucky; a couple of spokes had somehow loosened on the rear and one snapped when I gave it the first 1/4 turn to tighten it. Had they not loosened, I'd never have been tightening and the spoke would never have broken !

I used a set of black aksium's for two years. Never broke a spoke and rode them pretty hard on the local roads (southampton is officially the worst roads in hampshire - something to be proud of )

I broke a spoke or two on the old set of alex rimmed wheels that came with my Fairfax. Buckled the rear wheel on a pothole that had a screw jammed in it, blew out the rear tyre and the screw went right through to the rim. Took some effort to stop, and thats how I came to the aksium.

The aksium even stayed 100% true, even if the spoke tension started to wain a little towards the end when a car finally killed them off.
