Wow. Us visiting Cambridge cyclists always pronounce it as it's spelt. The Gumsterians must all be muttering 'he's not from round 'ere' when we open our mouths.

Spelled. Only commoners use 'spelt'.

We all know that Spelt (Triticum spelta) is actually a hexaploid wheat that originated from a hybrid of bread wheat and emmer.
