I think the age of that joke can be gauged by the fact the Race Relations Board ceased to exist with the passing of the Race Relations Act in 1976.

Might have seemed funny back then.

That will have nothing to do, of course, with deflecting recent personal criticism of Trevor Phillips' lack of effective leadership?

Still, his future will be ok. He also owns a commercial company which advises employers on equality issues. No hint of conflict or trading on his connections, naturally...
