@NT - Definitely a blockage somewhere, usually the pipework to the condenser tray, bit of stiff wire (chainlink fencing ideal) should sort it. Guessing you're not in Lincs or I'd offer to pop round.

Cheers, I'm not sure though as the condensed water flows through and fills the tank.

I am beginning to suspect the door switch as I have noticed that all the indicator lights are off when it stops, instead of showing 'finished', 'filter' or 'water'. It looks and reacts in the same way as if I had opened to the door mid cycle to have a look inside. Opening and closing the door, and then pressing start, gets it going again.

I will investigate the door switch, and also have a look at the condenser pipe too.

Take a reading of a water meter. They are usually about three feet deep down a tube in the ground and I cannot read the digits. Click and zoom, plus it is a back up record.

Also when we go for a walk (somewhere we dont know well) I take a shot of the OS map of the area (I can get about a quarter of one in very easily), Then with the zoom it is clearer and bigger than the original map and much easier to use than a paper map flapping around in the wind.

Many years ago I drove a group of 'political people' to an event in a large city. Upon arrival they all looked around lost and confused as they had no idea where they were and how to get to the venue across the city. This was pre cheap satnavs and none of them had the fore site to bring a map.

I found a local 'You are here' map where upon they all started debating how they were going to make a note of the directions.

I just photographed the map on my phone and headed off much to their bemusement.
Made me very valuable that day as I was the only one who had the sense to record the map.

I believe 125s can actually go faster than 125mph they just don't. Or did I dream that?

HSTs? Oh yes,155 mph IIRC without looking it up is the record for them. They are, or at least were, the fastest diesels in the world. Electrics are WAY better though!

EDIT: 148 mph, sorry, I'm getting my speeds mixed up with the APTs (162.2mph) and class 91s (Intercity 225) (162.6 mph).

155mph I think was to be the top speed of the APT.

IIRC when the class 91 was coming out, there weren't enough DVTs to run them, so a few 125 locos were modded to act as DVTs for the other end of the formation.
You therefore had a 6300 hp electric class 91 at one end...and a 2250 hp diesel at the other.
MOAR POWA!!!!

And you can still tell what HSTs they used as they have buffers fitted to their front ends, spoiling their lines.... really, they should have had a fleet of class 89s instead of the '91s though.

The '91s would only have been needed if they had been allowed to run at their designated top speed of 140mph, and the mark 4 coaches had had the tilt mechanisms fitted to them as originally planned.

As it is, they have never been able to realise their design potential.

I went on a train the other day (Pendolino?) and according to my mobile it hurtled along at 125mph for much of the time but hit 132mph for a short while.

I used the light on my wee flip phone to find my way back from the beach to the hotel during a powercut when I was in Goa. It was so dark that I couldn't see my hand in front of my face and I was feart of the packs of wild dogs that wandered around and it turned out that the hotel was lit up like Vegas as it was running off a generator.

I have seen the London to Bristol trains hitting 130 according to the on board telly things a few times. Presumably the driver trying to make up lost time though I imagine they are not meant to.
