This is my third winter commuting, with pride, at 5mph ^_^
Please Pat, tell me you didn't overtake me on the Old Kent Road last night...please tell me it isn't so...lie to me if you have to!!!

Doesn't matter, summer or winter I see very few cyclists on my commute, no big increase in people pedalling in the summer, or decrease in the winter, most of the time its just the few regulars, at work very few cycle.

Seem to be a lot of inexperienced folk out hugging the kerb and not taking primary early enough when turning right. i find its extra important to be assertive when its dark and to keep out where people can see you.

So far the cold's not an issue, if something gets cold I'll just buy an item of clothing to stop it getting cold again. The real problem's going to be when the ice starts coming, I can't get anyting more than 23c under my mudguards and I really don't want to hibernate as a turbo trainer just isn't an option for me.

i only have a small commute (if you can call it that) and to be honest once I'm all wrapped up I'm preferring cycling home now in the cold and dark.

In the heat of summer after a hard days work cycling home in the overbearing heat and the sodding prevailing northerly wind made my ride home a PITA. Now with low pressure and slick roads I'm flying home. P

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Still the same old in the bike sheds at work and i have been saying morning to a new commuter who i see most morning when i am on day shift as they carry on along the road where i turn off to get on the A 38 cyclepath .
The fact that its a female has nothing to do with it although.........

Been counting recently. I see an average of 7 other cyclists on my 5 mile commute. 3 - 4 of those are kids on the pavement. Being overtaken by other cyclists makes me jump out of my skin! There are so few out there I always forget to look for them!
