Part of my commute on Friday was 7 miles into forecast headwinds of 50 kph. The winds never showed up! What a fab trip, a crisp night, clear skies and no wind at all.
They arent as good as this one. Maybe I will try and convert everyone here to a supercharged exhaust fume breathing petrol drinker and rename this forum CarChat.

I used to be on a BMW forum (there i said it), but as cycling took over, i used the forum less and less .... Must be 2 years since i last logged in. I found the technical help really great, but they didn't talk about anything else. Got quite boring.
You'll learn more about life if you stay on here @Matthew_T :-)
A slow coach commuter with decent quality base layers to keep the cold out. The beauty of colder weather is fewer dog walkers with extendable leads right across the bridle/cycle path that I use that won't give enough space for me to pass even when I slow down and ring the bell etc.
rarely see any one on my commute. But last week had to start early one day so 5.30 toddling along in the dark head down just looking few yards ahead on the cycle path and a cyclist wizzed by from the other way. Really caught me out crazy sod on a bike at that time was only luck I was on the right side I have it to my self as a rule. Learnt my lesson any way maximum concentration at all times !
Yes, I like the bad weather: I get almost exclusive use of the "shared" paths, with fewer of the cyclists and pedestrians for whom "sharing" means "you can have the path when I'm finished with it" .
