When you go to a wedding evening "do", and the dancefloor area is too loud so you can't really talk to anyone. I spent the night shouting into people's ears. There was a quieter lounge area but of course no-one I knew was in there

Anything like that was a waste of time for me
Many years later I realised that my hearing is "off" and I can;t separate words in a voice if there is a lot of background noise

It was always a mystery to me how a bloke could approach a girl/woman at a disco and chat her up
I would have no idea what she was saying!!!

I've actually done that in a club and spat on someone when trying to shout in their ear. And I had a cold at the time, it was not pleasant. So I did the right thing and walked off without telling them

I heard about that - I seem to remember there was a special name for it, but I can't remember what

personally, I just drank bitter - snake bite was a cocktail as far as I was concerned!

That's the one we used to have, strong rough cider & Carlsberg Special Brew

I couldn't remember whether I went out last Saturday night. I had to check my card transactions.

I had actually, it was to a Led Zeppelin tribute gig. I'd forgotten all about it.

I used to go out every day for at least 4 hours in the spring, summer and autumn, and two hours in the winter. Lately I've forced myself out on certain days when the weather's been horrible, but now I just cannot be bothered. I take my dog for a pee, poop and sniff about around my flat for 10 minutes and that's it. The older I get, no matter how many layers I have on I just cannot hack the cold weather, especially that horrible east wind!!🥶
