I had one and I still think its in my parents loft, will check. I remember I started off with a ZX81 then upgraded to a Spectrum (48k). My friend had a C64 first and I remember I was so jealous. Anyway, Santa was very kind and I got one.

I remember playing Ghosts and Goblins and The Hobbit adventure game.

Happy days!

WHAT was the point of the hobbit? I could never get as far as the tree outside the front door before I ended up getting either slain of typing sweary words into it.

It was a difficult game, I think due to the fact that the program could only understand a limited vocabulary. Therefore if you typed something in which it didn't understand you were slain or eaten or turned to stone. I know it may sound sad but we played the game in conjunction with using the book as a guide. I remember it took ages but we completed it in the end. Strangely, we never seemed to tire of this game even though it was so limited.

Fair enough Shrim. I once clocked commando on the speccy using my bigh toe for the grenade.

I remember the loading on the speccy, took ages and most of the time it did not work. Manic Miner was my fave, I still know the music now and i'm going to be humming it all afternoon now thanks to this thread!!

Manic Miner can be found for PCs if you go looking for it. I have it on my netbook.

i've got in on my mac. 16 or 32k on the speccy, requires 256mb ram on the mac… lazy programmers…

Gotta say though that I was rather partial to Ghostbusters.

Never had a C64, went from a Vic-20 to a C128 then had an Amiga 1200 ( which is still in the parents loft )
