Got my new bike on Friday so decided to ride it to work last night just to try it out. It's a GT GTR 3 so will just be a sunny day bike normally and I will continue to commute on the hybrid.
Anyway, did the 10 miles to work ok then rode the 10 miles home this morning and it was great right up to the point where I turned into my driveway. The bike slid away from me on the wet shiny tarmac and I was unceremoniously dumped on the tarmac.
Luckily I managed to sacrifice the skin off my right knee in a bid to protect the bike so only a minor scuff to the brake handle and the rear mech boss but did I mention, I think I will keep this bike just for the sunny, DRY days! I don't think any of the neighbours saw me as it was 7.30 on a Sunday morning.
