The Stratford cycle club has been running an early season reliability trial regularly for years, during the 1990's it was an event I did regularly, I would ride down from Coventry to Stratford, 20-25miles, do the event and ride back. Earlier this year I did the Cotswold Outing Audax, 67 miles, organised by the Beacon cycle club. I road out to the HQ at Wythall did the event and rode back to Coventry, to give a total mileage of 119 miles for the day.

In June 2008 I flew from Oslo to Tampere in Finland to take part in a 135 km night ride with one of my best mates.

Then in September I flew from Oslo to Glasgow to take part in the 85km 'Pedal for Scotland' with the Scottish chapter of CC.

Tell me again Dave, how many best mates have you got?

I usually do about 70/80 miles to start the FNRttCs from London, depending on how lost theFire gets us on the trip from Chessington to Hyde Park...

FNRTTC on the 9th will be my first actual cycling event (never done any group rides before...). It's a whopping 1.7 miles to the start...

Last year's York-Cleethorpes FNRttC. Would be about 270 miles by road. Lands' End runs it close, about 250. Rode up to HPC for the FNRttC on Good Friday, will be doing so again this Friday for the Martlets run.

I went from Manchester to the Spezi exhibition in Germany and got to ride a bike that pedaled backwards.
Didn't cycle all the way there though, just the last few miles.

Let us all acknowledge the heroism of Mike E. Hull to Hyde Park Corner for the start of the FNRttC to Brighton. And then home again to Hull. On a single speed.

I've driven 190 miles each way for a weekend of cycling. More than once. That said 99% of my rides start at he back gate.
