My father in law has been trying to out wit the local squirrels with his bird feeder - it's now on a 10 ft pole with oil on it - but the squirrel has managed to jump the gap - crazy...

I was reading a guns and ammo mag once (as you do) and there was an article about a gun enthusiast who was called in to exterminate squirrels from a church roofspace, as opposed to rentokil doing the job.
By all accounts, she did a great job of clearing the church of its "tree rat" population, as she put it.
