He's a government minister. He needs to get his facts right, not base policy on internet conspiracy theories. Don't his researchers do fact checking? Or only when it suits him.
His researchers probably check facts, but he may prefer to listen to his spin doctors telling him which conspiracies could win him votes.

Remember Failing Grayling, a previous transport secretary? So thick he reckoned cyclists weren't classed as road users, and tried to kill one of our number with a car door. Well, he's not running again at the next election.
