because it's a tv license... the clue is in the name... are ITV and C4 on the TV or not?
no such tax and it's not for the road.A bit like road tax is for a road??
Altered to 'road fund license'no such tax and it's not for the road.
I really am missing your point...Altered to 'road fund license'
However the point I was trying to make is it is not a TV license for a tv either,is it?
Oh and BTW HMRC beg to differ with you on wether there is such a thing as road tax, maybe like criminalising the TV license dodger its another piece of legislation change?
Yes, yours.
It's not a 'civil matter', it's a criminal offence under section 363 of the Communications Act 2003.

if you buy a TV then you need a TV licince
Yes it is http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/topics/understanding-your-tv-licence-top3/it's not required for a dvd player, and i'm fairly sure it's not required for my PC, or my phone, and if i had surround sound I'd be surprised if it was required for that.
What they fail to say is a licence is not needed if your watching programmes on a pc from another time and not live broadcast.
Sorry, but you do.
TV Licensing - understanding your tv license said:You need a valid TV Licence if you use TV receiving equipment to watch or record television programmes as they’re being shown on TV. ‘TV receiving equipment’ means any equipment which is used to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV. This includes a TV, computer, mobile phone, games console, digital box, DVD/VHS recorder or any other device.
a dvd recorder, not player, same difference between a video player and recorder... one cannot receive tv because it does not have a tuner.Yes it is http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/topics/understanding-your-tv-licence-top3/
If you use them to watch/process live tv broadcasts, however do they have to prove that you are watching them, or do you have to prove you aren't as you have equipment capable of doing so?
a dvd recorder, not player, same difference between a video player and recorder... one cannot receive tv because it does not have a tuner. afaik some double up as freeview receivers, besides if you have a dvd player then the odds are you have a TV
There is no TV tuner in my PC, so if they consider having a mere internet connection as grounds for having to buy a tv licence, then they can kiss my ar$e They do,you can access iplayer
you haven't seen my phone, but if you did and once you'd stopped laughing, you'd agree i don't need a tv licence for it. If it as no web browser then it is old.
I doubt my PS1 or PS2 counts. PS2 afaik will connect to the web, Plus by having them you have a tv by assoociation.
...and Davidc... they do frequently repeat 'as it is broadcast' in their blurb.
