Heading home late last night from work i stubbled across to many drivers doing stupid things, one of which was a WVM. This WVM was in a heck of a rush to get home, just in case his dog ate his dinner or something. Approaching a set of traffic lights about 200 yards away i always look behind then manoeuvre...now the road is a single lane then merges into two, one to go right the other to go straight on.

Looking behind, the van is going at a fair pace (way over the speed limit). He decides to overtake me onto the merging lanes only yards away from the traffic lights (at this point i had to brake slightly), and decides to go straight on while i take the lane to go right...Now i did look over my shoulder, i did stick out my arm and only if he waited a mere 2 seconds he would of got past me. The lights were at red just going to green and i shouted "and the point of that was"? He looked out the window while still driving like a lunatic and shook his head.

Always seems to be WVM and BMW doesn't it? I always imagine they are rushing home to watch Eastenders, Hollyoaks etc and don't want to miss the next cliff-hanger.

But looking at the car and driver and imagining them to desperate to get home with cup of coffee in hand - immersing themselves in the latest drama queen, outlandish, cure for insomnia outpourings from soap-land always makes me chuckle

Wow, slating a whole chunk of the population for the TV they watch... thought the fact they were a danger on the road was bad enough, but the audacity to watch populist tv.? (the dirty evil bastards)

You seem very taken by soap operas, you pissed off that you not home in time or something?

What are the accepted viewing habits that polite people have?

Was just kidding and used the soap thing as an example. Could have easily have been countdown, though i like countdown ;)

My partner likes soaps and they're just noise to me. Thank God for the i-pod

today whilst driving home from the hairdressers i had:

1 car tail gate me out of a car park with a barrier... and almost going into the back of me!
2 cars overtake me after i had pulled up at a red light (yes they went through the red light!)
1 taxi pull out on me and then proceed down the road at 10mph.

i was pretty pissed off by the time i got to my mums. standard of driving these days is shoot. its not just careless, its reckless. the two guys going through the red light obviously thought they were in an episode of dukes of hazard.

Reds are now treated as ambers. If you are turning right at a set of lights without a right arrow light, nobody goes until the lights have gone red to stop the traffic from the other direction.

This encourages a "2 or 3 car after red" mentality.
