You need a car polish for that. A 'wash' is just a detergent. I use car shampoo as I've loads of it and it's cheap.

Apparently the answer is to do a ceramic coating then for the next 18 months a quick hose down and you have a sparkly bike.
This is according to the gurus on GCN.

Vim, or Ajax if Vim is unavailable.
I wouldn't, they are abrasive.
As a matter of fact, I was talking about cleaning products with my friend, as women sometimes do ^_^
We both mentioned Vim and Ajax, not having seen them for sale here in Scotland
Both of us are immigrants, we used to clean with Ajax and Vim when we lived outside the UK.
We Googled it, apparently some shops do sell them (I have never seen them!) but of course you can buy both products online from the usual outlets.
Expensive though!

I think Drago’s post was a bit tongue in cheek. On the subject of vim Mrs W parents were both smokers and Mrs W mum was complaining of having nicotine stained teeth, so her dad said he’d fettle them and precede to brush them with Vim. With the result of much foaming and burnt gums.
Mrs W swears this is true story.

I’ve come across a few individuals in my line of work that have used Vim, many years ago now. Suffice it to say it was in the emergency department….
