Evidently you aren't familiar with helmet physics. When wearing a helmet cyclists are impervious to all external danger apart from 4x4s. And Apache helicopters. Apache helicopters have machine guns. They have machine guns and rockets. They have an almighty arsenal and are a war machine not to be reckoned with!

i spent some time in the Lebanon a few years back and we were driving a Sherpa van around the hills above Jounieh when we came round the corner there was this hole in the road that would have swallowed us had we not been going slow due to bend , it must have been 4 -5 ft deep !

In Pristina Dec '99 there was a pot hole in the road with a fridge (it may have been a freezer) in it, wish I'd taken a photo. The fridge was only just peeking over the top of the hole.
