Any other golf nuts in here? Anyone else watching it?

Some pretty spectacular thunderstorms this morning, but they are finally making some steady progress.

Poulter had the lead for a while this morning, but has started to slide back now.

Tiger, McIlroy and Scott are off just after 9. As predicted, Skys coverage is good, but don't count on seeing too many of the European lads!

Yep, will certainly be stuck in front of the telly for the next 4 nights watching.

I'd like to see Poulter do well (fellow Gooner!) but looks like it going to be quite an open championship (excuse the pun).

Gotta love a Gooner... Even though I'm based in Manchester, I'm a die hard Arsenal fan and have been since I was a kid!

I'd love to see any of the European lads win it, but like you say, this one is anybody's. the rain break certainly did for Poults this morning though.

Mickelson seems to be hitting a lot of fairways for a change, but then they don't need to smash it to get round Merion.

Weird seeing red baskets on the Pins though!

It looks like the weathers going to play a big part in this & as you say hitting the fairways is the important thing on this course.

Be nice to see a Brit win & although its early days they look up for it.

Ps. We always see loads of Manchester Arsenal fans at northern away games in matching jackets!!

If he keeps on in this way, then Mickelson could well walk off with it, but looking forward to seeing how the so called big three cope with it. They are making a lot of fuss about them, but my money is McIlroy having another case of chocolate trousers! I'm about an hour behind coz of live pause!

However, I now want about three new cars (including the F-type), which they have advertising all day, and six different sets of irons/fairway woods/drivers....

I try and get to as many games as I can up here, defo not in matching coats though! I can't see myself affording a gunners season ticket, or getting my mits on one any time before my 80th birthday. Gonna try and get to the emirates a couple of times this season though!

I know! Just settled in to watch as much of it as I can tonight, but the cricket is getting in the way!

Hoping that Poults has a good round today, as does Donald :-) Wold be nice to see Phil finally win it as well.... Runner up 5times and played in23 of them.... Would make him like the Jimmy White of the US Open!

Yeah, Mickelson went up in my estimations with his sportsmanship in last years Ryder Cup so if its not a Brit win then I can think of no one I'd like more to win than him.

Yeah, he's always my first choice outside of the European lads, just coz he's a nice bloke!

Having said that, Monty has just been extolling Hunter Mahans virtues, and for once, I might have to agree with him
Always liked him as a player and a person.

Well I'm hoping that with Luke & Rosie going out together the pressure will be kind of off them & some of the Ryder Cup spirit will come out.

Yep. He's wearing the sun. Having said that, have you seen Horschels trousers? He says he's wearing the for a bet. I think he actually secretly likes them!
