I was waiting to come out of Glasshouse Walk onto Albert Embankment this morning (the traffic was really bad) and this big, posh looking car turned right off the Embankment and went down Glasshouse Walk past me. The only trouble with this is that Glasshouse Walk is a 1-way street and he was going the wrong way. I waved my arm to indicate this to the driver but he just sailed past me and continued on.

I'll post the clip of this tomorrow sometime.

Anyway, my question is, is this something I can report on Roadsafe? And what would it go under, inconsiderate driving?

I can appreciate the driver was getting frustrated in the traffic but this was pretty bad and if I'd been a minute later coming up Glasshouse Walk, we would have met head on. Also, there are opportunities to turn right legally off the Embankment within 50 metres or so both before and after Glasshouse Walk, so no excuse other than stupidity/ignorance/arrogance*

Oh, and some idiot nearly doored me this morning but there's nothing I can do about that is there

I don't know how you'd report it on Roadsafe, but assuming he had passed a no entry or one way sign it would be a TS50 Road Traffic Offence "Failing to comply with traffic sign (excluding - stop -signs, traffic lights or double white lines)", for which the offender could collect 3 penalty points.

Very useful link, thanks! It's definitely failing to comply with a sign AND a set of double white lines.

I hope that right turn was worth it.

Mind you, I'm never sure if RoadSafe ever does anything or if it's merely a passifying exercise and all the forms go into a big black spam bin.

Maybe the driver just made a mistake?

I thought that initially but no, it wasn't a quick manoeuvre, he was indicating out in the traffic, there was loads of time for them to see the sign and the markings. If they were that desperate to get off the Embankment, they could have done a quick u-ey and turned left at the very nearby junction.

Is it worth the bother though ? IMHO it's not worth the effort to compile the video and fill in what ever on-line forms there may be. Just enjoy your cycling.
But if no-one ever reports numpty drivers, the only ones that (may) get punished are the ones who actually cause accidents. Better to complain about this, even if the chances of a) the police taking an interest and b) the driver learning from it are small.

There was a car recently that was driving down the wrong way on a one way road that I came across. I saw them coming so waved my arm in the air and stopped short of them. I indicated to them to turn around and that it was a one way road. I think they saw the camera and did indeed turn around.
For the life of me though, I cannot remember when it was and cannot find the video file.

Is reversing down a one way road and driving down it the same?
