All this is dependent on that nob'ead getting re-elected, though, isn't it?

The bit about it I do like is that if you live in the congestion zone you get a 90% discount, but this will be scrapped for the £25 a day owners!

When London was choking on Smog in the 50s everyone was told to use something other than coal for their heating. We didn't say to the rich of Chelsea, if you pay more you can keep your fires but the poor in the east end will have to change. Everyone got rid of their fires to clean up the environment. The London Smogs killed relatively few and had little apparent effect on the worlds environment.
Why? Oh! Why? Do we allow these things on the road at all?

It's hardly relevant in the greater scheme of things. It's a tiny area, and you'd be mad to drive in during those hours anyway, it's much quicker by bike or tube.

And when the weekend comes you're free to drive a hummer in to pick up Tarquin's goodies from 'arrods......

You lifted that from the BBC!

BTW - the London smog of 1952 alone was estimated to have killed 4,000 people.

I also note that the Ken hating media isn't giving much coverage to the fact that all band A and B cars are now exempt from the congestion charge.

Surely they need to rename it to the Emmisions Charge then?
