My life has hitherto sheltered me from knowing the meaning of this term. I'd to look it up. May I suggest it be replaced:

I despise the verminous 'sun' 'newspaper' with every fibre of my being and reserve my most vitriolic scorn for the brain-washed fools of low self-esteem and poor taste who would read it if they had bothered to turn up at school but instead rely on it having pictures and having some unfortunate to read it to them.

In the context of this young lady's no doubt erudite prose and literary achievement it is the Book of Revelations, as I suspect she makes more than one revelation, justifying the 's' and as it is her only book, the use of "the" is also correct
