The thing about John Major was that he was so unremittingly dull, even his dreary voice so the grey thing was very appropriate. He was partially redeemed later on when he admitted to having an affair with Edwina Curry, who'd a thought it.

Theresa May is in a different league and nobody could accuse her of being dull with her kitten heels and thousand pound leathers strides. Grey hair of course as anyone of that age but she hasn't dyed it like Paul McCartney whose locks are a very odd colour.
