The grandson is three in a couple of weeks..the wonderful balance bike is now a bit small.
So we have bought him this..it's a little bit big I think,but it should do him until he reaches five ..six. Stabilizer fitting may be needed..but he goes great on the balance bike so maybe not..
Very nice little bike and well made..

Take the pedals off, lower the seat and it IS a balance bike

Then when he is used to it, replace the pedals, they naturally get used as foot rests
They then progress onto pedalling intuitively

Known as the Ballantyne method, and removes the stabiliser stage

Good idea..his dad will do that if needed..we are a cycle family so the quicker he learns the better he will be ..

Our granddaughter is a similar age, we brought her a bike for xmas and she's shown no interest in it, evan though she asked for it.
