No tours planned, in fact nothing planned at all except for some time for some quality time with my good lady, some cycling and some time to potter round the garden, anything else will be made up as I go along.
Get out and enjoy every minute from day one - our retirement plans were ruined by my wife's spinal injury so I say do all the mad things you want and enjoy it - you never know what's around the corner

Nice one welcome to the retirement lazy buggers club

Neither of my parents actually got to enjoy retirement, so whenever I hear of someone retiring, I sincerely wish them a very long and happy one. Good for you @dave r , make the most of it :okay::smile::okay:

Yes my dad was only 48 when he died and my Mum was only in her early sixties when she died, but they were a different generation and aged a lot faster than people do these days.

I retired when I was 64.............I'm 68 now. Previously I had heard people saying "I don't know how I had time to work"...........I now understand that expression .
I suppose everyone reacts differently but I chilled way too much and it took me 12 months to get "real".
I have plenty of hobbies and I think that is key to enjoying retirement............don't vegetate.
Enjoy
