Wonder why it only gets a 10 year warranty when the frames Van Nic puts out under it's own brand have lifetime waranty? They must all come from same factory in China.

What's the price difference between buying the frame from Planet X and Van Nic? I suspect that at least partly accounts for the difference in warranty period.

'Teef, FlyingDodo and Martint238 all ride PlanetX Ti.

IIRC, those were all made by Lynskey. Planet X have changed their supplier to Van Nicholas. I've got a Van Nic Yukon - it's a lovely bike, very smooth ride, decent welding, good quality throughout. Van Nic build the frames to Planet X's spec, but I'm sure that the quality will be just as good as their own. The one thing that would make me hesitate is the 10 year warranty: there do seem to be an awful lot of reports of cracked Ti frames, far more than you'd expect given how few (even expensive) bikes are made of it. Welding Ti is difficult to do properly, and I do wonder if frame manufacturers are sufficiently skilled in it as yet. I'd suggest that a lifetime warranty would be a good thing to look for - unless, of course, the manufacturer goes bust...
