Interesting and I hope there's low risk of it going off in the owner's face, but won't thieves just wear masks if it's labelled that clearly?

Also, I've mixed feelings about the Grauniad going on about the old Kryptonite O-key pen trick... but it does look like the Skunk Lock might use that style, or at least a keyhole on the end of the barrel, instead of in the middle where it's harder to target.

I'd imagine someone would claim assault.

Also if I was of the criminal type and had just to my mind been attacked like that I think I'd kick the bike to pieces out of spite and revenge.

You wouldn't need a lock - just tie the chain round the seat post ... who would venture close enough to untie it!
