This Holdworth.

I am kind of interested in this bike, mainly because of the 531 frame and forks. It is the correct size and not too far from me.
From the 531 stickers it would appear to be a late 70's or no later than 1982 machine.
The question is, --- what are the collectives thoughts on Holdworths from this period?

I saw that too. One thought... it looks like plain gauge 531 rather than 531c? If so slightly heavier. I think it looks decent.

Looks like a early 80’s Holdsworth Avanti. Later ones would have been made out of 501.
My guess would be about 1982.

Looks like it still has the original bar tape and brake hoods!

Looks okay, nothing special. In good condition for that age. Would cost about £100 to sort out assuming you don’t want to stick with tubs, less if you do.
All original apart from the wheels and would make a nice vintage bike.

It doesn't look like a 56cm frame. Maybe it just has a short head tube.

My experience of Holdsworths is that they are "journeyman" frames, not the best built but light enough. I've had two where the steerer tube was brazed in wonky, giving small offset and supertanker steering.

I’d take it for that price, it’s tidy and original, it’ll ride just fine.
