Saw them in Cairgorm one Easter some years back. Having just got out of a tent half-asleep it was rather unsettling for a few moments before we realised what we were looking at. First sleepy thoughts included the end-of-the world or space aliens as you'd not really expect to see them that far south. They dance about more than I'd imagined too. When I've been much further north it's been summer so not seen them in the more usual places
