Can someone explain to me how, despite wearing overshoes, my socks are completely soaked through from light drizzle on the way in the work this morning.

This is not acceptable.

I'll be writing to my MP.

Get some proper winter shoes. Overshoes are for amateurs or the relatively unprepared.

You were clearly at fault for (insert reason to inflame thread).

What overshoes do you have.

Are they waterproof? (snigger-had to ask).

It's quite possible I neglected to replace my mudguards after taking them off at the weekend when changing a wheel.

I refuse to accept this might have had anything to do with it.

Despite having got changed into clean dry clothes at work after having a shower, I now have a wet bum again because I sat in my office chair earlier in wet clothes and got my chair wet and I'm not wearing any socks because the socks in my bag got wet on the way in because because and now EVERYTHING is wet and oh God this is the worst thing that could ever possibly happen to anyone ever.

I bet they were wet because you always wear a helmet.

If you wore a cycling cap, your shoes and your trousers would be dry.

I tell you why he's wet. Because the D1CK chose to cycle to work. What kind of nobber does that? :rain: :hidebc:

Very OT: I worked for a number of years in a heavily IT-dependent office running about a billion types of bespoke software. Whenever the (frequent) onscreen message came up "Blah Blah Outage", I read it as "Blah Blah Outrage".

I was never really very outraged, but I slowly developed an inability to distinguish the two words. Good thing I don't take the Mirror, Mail or Express....

On a serious note Jezston, I rather fear that if your MP is of a current coalition party, you will find that the blame lies with the decade of mismanagement by the party opposite. If he or she is on the opposition benches, the blame will lie with the shameful inability of the party opposite to show any leadership, flair or fiscal prudence.

Do not thank me for this insight. I have been a careful observer of PMQs for some time now and I think I have this politics thing licked.
