I find the amount of gunk that's attracted to the magnet in the bottom of the device quite surprising, lots of bits of chain that was previously somewhere in or on your chain grinding away...

to the OP constantly knocking all the lube out of your chain and to inadequately replace it is a mugs game.

this is the way for the enlightened...

Wax based lube, and quick wipe with cloth after a ride if chain has got wet / dirty.

Post ride wipe down and re-lube then your good to go next ride. something like wax based like Squirt is good for keeping a clean looking chain.

It's a Park Tool chain cleaner. I have one and like it, others will tell you it's a waste of money.
