it makes me happy. at the moment the yellow is gorgeous in the sunlight. unfortunately, used my phone to take the pics so not brilliantly bright pics like the real thing.
one guy i work with does the same route, Patrick Pending cycles across me but we've never bumped into each other. i see a couple of other cyclists, usually one of us is speeding downhill while the other struggles up it and we give it other than knowing pitying sympathetic "i've been there" smile (it's up and down all the way although it doesn't look it on the photos... i need my proper camera for the long valley shots!). that road can be a bit scary at times, not that many cars, but some of their drivers are pricks. the guy i work with has worked out a couple of other routes that takes us just off the main road where there is no traffic at all, and again, the scenery is amazing, but no pics yet. must take my proper camera... but i was afraid the rapeseed might be gone and i wouldn't have chance to photograph it.
they are amazing, sometimes i nearly ride into ditches because i'm too busy staring in amazement. It's hilly as hell but the scenery is worth it. These pics were taken on the way back, but i'm going to get some on the way there because yesterday i was riding to work thinking "damn, i missed that shot!" It's prettier going to work, if that makes sense. different perspective. Also, i've missed a lot of the rapeseed. a couple of weeks ago i had to wear my sunglasses just coz of the brightness of the fields.
Nice views - I only get those if I do a 20 mile loop home - did that on Wednesday. The only down side was a rather large climb on the fixed (it's an easy 40 mph descent on a road bike - only slowed by the cars doing the 40 limit).....
