Saw a man out cutting his lawn this morning. That's a first for mid December.

I looked after a local (SW19) garden for 20 years until early this year. Mowing the lawn up to mid december was by no means unusual and one winter about 15 years ago i carried on mowing all through winter.

And climate change.

There's always been climate change....
Yes, we're contributing through our bad practices to certain environmental calamities, before you shout at me...

I am staggered (a bit of an exaggeration at the wild mushrooms Still available. I actually picked field mushrooms and blue legs (wood bluets) Friday.

Summer was really bad for tomatoes. Day temperatures okay night time temperatures extraordinarily low. Now day and night high. Sweating while cycling in a tee-shirt and jacket??

The main problem with not having a cold snap is all the rot and bugs dont get killed off .

The bugs will be, errm, a real bugger next year. I try not to use sprays other than for specific pests (viburnum beetle, asparagus beetle) but green and black fly are likely to be rampant next year unless we get a very cold spell in the new year.
