0C testerday, but about 10 for a high today, and due to be warm like this(comparatively) for rest of the week. It has to chill down, and that right quick, or my bicycle club will want to ride to Heyworth or some similar distant place on the New Years' Day Ride.

Was wandering round Bristol zoo today and was in a t shirt and a light fleece, the sort I would wear in late September if weather was normal.

I bought some bib shorts off a fellow CC'er last week.

I'm going to wear them tomorrow.

There's daffodils out our way, and I reckon the blossom's going to sprout on the trees in my back garden by Christmas Day.

Good things about the mild spell - no icy roads in the morning, we've not be affected by the heavy rain which has hit other areas of the country, my heating's not working properly so it's not been too bad while waiting for the parts to be fitted.
Bad things about the mild spell - the constant strong winds and the almost complete lack of sunshine for the past couple of months (at least in this corner of Suffolk).

Summer was really bad for tomatoes. Day temperatures okay night time temperatures extraordinarily low. Now day and night high. Sweating while cycling in a tee-shirt and jacket??

Agreed - Lousy year at our allotment for the things that needed heat like tomato's, chillies, cucumbers etc.

Fruit did well, which is always a sign of a cooler summer.

I stood on the train this morning looking at a woman wearing a thick puffa jacket, a scarf and some of those fluffy ear muffs - I was stood in cycling shorts, my mtb shorts over the top (so as to not "show" what wouldn't be decent (thinking of fat here rather than anything else ;)) a cycling t shirt and a hi viz cycling jacket which is very light weight. When I was leaving to cycle to the station the thermometer in the garden was reading 14 degrees C. The woman was dressed for deep mid winter whilst I was sweltering with shorts on....
There's nowt so queer as folk (as one person north of the Watford Gap services might have conceivably said at some point in history)
I was quite staggered about the scarf and ear muffs
