Friday afternoon, taking Wafflycat Minor & his kit up to Norwich, to do a spot of decorating in the house he'll be living in come next term back at uni...
I was waiting to turn right into the back lane of the property. A couple of cyclists were at the junction of the lane/road I was on. The road is on a slope. They were doing everything right, checking to see if clear to pull out, as limited visibility due to number of cars parked along each side of the road. Then a twunt on a bicycle, with child on crossbar of said bike came hairing it down the slope (freewheeling), on the pavement, straight into the side of the cyclist waiting to turn out on to the road from the lane. He knocked the cyclist off (she was ok) and the kid on his crossbar had an expression of mixed terror and surprise. Apart from surprise, luckily said kid was okay. No you moron, you don't freewheel down a sloping footpath straight into the side of the cyclist on the lane in front of you, and you don't do it with a small kid on your crossbar. Moron.
