National Pie Week!

I doing nowt about it until Friday when I will share pies with selected colleagues and might even bake a halal pie to share a couple of my muslim colleagues.

I will be venturing into pie rich territory on Saturday when I do a 100km Audax in North Yorkshire. It has all the makings of a five pie ride.

How are you going to celebrate this stupiendous opportunity to eat pie?

Very thoughtful of you. Just make sure there's no lard in the pastry. That would undo all your hard work.

I was going to hand make the shortcrust pastry with vegetable Trex but then discovered a shortcut - Jus Roll pastry passes muster - there's no animal products in it at all.

I've got halal corned beef for the filling.
