The last bathroom floor I tiled included leveling the existing floor, setting all the nails flush , laying and screwing down 12mm plywood, sealing all the wood, joints and edges, tiling the floor around all the pipes, bits of projecting wall, alcove, out of square corners and door threshold, grouting the floor and sealing the edges.
I think I wanted a little bit more then £400.

If the room had needed all that then I would have been happy to pay what he wanted. I don't mind paying what a job is worth but apart from a shower enclosure and 1 alcove it is pretty much square. The pan and cistern are easily removable so there's no messing about around that. The tiles are large too 600 x 300 so it isn't like there are masses to actually lay down.

I lined the floor with 9mm ply last weekend which took me a morning and cost £35. I'm expecting it to take two full days so will most probably be finishing it off during the week.

Looks good, doc. Enjoy.

I'm going to pencil it in for next year too. If I forget can you send me a reminder next spring!
PM me an email adress and I'll set it up now, if you like?
I think I can persuade Outlook to send an email next March...

Tiling the bathroom floor.
Oh. And Saturday lunchtime I am off clay pigeon shooting. (and doing a bit of archery)
And you can use any left over tiles for clay pigeon shooting. Thus saving on the 'pigeons'.

Teaching, then gigging, meaning I miss going for a ride AND the Champions League final. Superbad.

Saturday: eating cake with the ladies and then attempting to catch up with the laundry mountain before it takes over the whole house

Sunday: mostly getting soaked (if the forecast is to be believed ) on the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance 54 mile charity ride. There are, apparently, 6 refreshment / toilet stops along the way ... what luxury. I rarely stop on rides that length if I'm on my own and have long since discovered that it is perfectly possible for women in bib shorts to cycle with their legs crossed.
