I think 30 seconds is a very liberal estimate. I would have said closer to 5 seconds saved.

yes, see this quite a lot now, routine running red lights and general petty sorts of corner cutting, I suppose it might add up over a journey

a decent section of society pays no respect to common manners, law or anything, it's entirely about them

Very poor driving, not to mention selfish; the driver surely hadn't got 100% clear view of the "obstacles" he/she might encounter coming the other way.

Sorry if my post wasn't clear but at first the manouvre although not perfect didn't seem the worst but then I realised what he was doing, skipping by the other cars which were also turning right and on the wrong side of the road, not only impolite but could have been pretty dangerous, they were turning right to block his view, the possibility of on coming traffic, pedestrians looking the other way only (the direction of regular flow), etc.
I hope that makes sense

I've been on the receiving end of that in my car in Portsmouth - I turned left out of a small junction, to find myself confronted with the bonnet of a car driving the wrong way towards me - and the driver then started gesticulating at me to reverse and shouting at me in some Eastern European language. No way I was going to move.

Completely OT I was watching an old Top gear a few nights back and two from the Dragon's Den were on and one of them bought the other the reg. along the lines of W11N KER :-)
And I've just watched a Magnatom Video where he got a crap pass from A69 CK, Mag's points out to the bloke that he had a couple of letters missing :-)
