Choose the bike that YOU like the look of and is comfortable when YOU are riding it. Within reason, the cost should not be the prime reason for buying a bike IMO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Halfords wouldn't let Hubster have a go on anything but a turbo trainer. Personally, I'd not have parted with £900 for a bike that I was not allowed to have a try on, but that's just me.

Oh that 2013 saxon cross is very tempting.....
Was looking at giant cx bikes but decided I really didn't like the look of them. Tcx was the nicest to my eyes but designed for racing so no mudguards points and stuff. Something about the seatstays joining lower than the top tube just looked wrong on the revolt and the Anyroad is yuck!

I think you are right. Buy cheap buy twice. I'm just a little reticent getting the Giant when I'm only here for a couple of days should something go wrong. Think I'll look at LBS when back home. Loved the ride on the Giant though
From what I have seen Giant look after the people that buy their bikes . I bought my Defy from my LBS but after the cable stretch story went on for a while I took it to my local giant shop . And I have come across the lower spec tcx 2 second hand for 300 quid...might be a nice way to go and use the money saved to upgrade things later...
First upgrade would be the Canti brakes
Is that the nice red and black frame? I loved that frame, I initially intended to buy the TCX 2 but could only find TCX 1 in my size.

No it's white with some black. Fella knows nothing about bikes so not sure of the condition. Any idea what a tcx 2 would have cost new?
£750 or so seems to stick in my head.

If so be aware it's a 2011 model. Not a problem as long as you're aware and happy with condition and price
