just so as you know.......

a long time ago I had a Holdsworth frame and it was looking pretty ropey, so I sanded it down, dug all the little bits of paint out of the corners around the lugs, took it back to the bare metal, primed it, painted it with umpteen coats of car paint and then put some surplus Letraset letters on it. And the surplus Letraset letters spelt DELL ZEQQ

And then, a couple of weeks later I did the L2B and I was gliding up the Beacon on a 42/19 and I passed a couple of young men walking and one said to the other
'that's a Dellzeqq'
and the other one said
'yeah, they're great bikes'

Please please please let that be a true story.

Very flash, matey, but there are TWO 'Ls' in dell! :headshake:

:boxing:;)
I remember the first time I meant dell - it was in Brockwell Park. He told me the story of why he called himself dellzeqq.

He started by saying he was called dellzeqq because his frame was called dellzeqq. I switched off after that opening phrase as I thought he was going to talk about how he was called after a trendy bike-maker or something. If I knew he was being ironic I'd have paid attention and genuinely laughed. Except I started thinking about pubs, didn't listen to a word he said until he changed subject, and just smiled ok instead. That was some years ago now!
Sorry, what did you say?? I was thinking about the pub, sorry.
