Thread killing is a minor art form.

I once tried, in a slow period on the old C+ forum, to introduce a "last word" competition (but without telling anybody, naturally). For some reason, lots of people got all shirty about it...

Another one here that can kill a thread at a hundred paces. I can even start a thread about something I thought good, like this,
