I've got a much cheaper way to stay dry whilst cycling, which I try to do every single time I ride. Check weather before getting bike out and don't cycle in the rain unless absolutely unavoidable. Even in our dodgy country I get away with it at least 19 out of 20 times.
Will I be buying £300 trousers when I'm usually riding a £30 or less bike? I think you can guess the answer to that.... Goretex is good stuff, but it doesn't have to cost anything like that much. Obviously messing about on a bike in the woods has gone a bit upmarket since I started doing it. Now just as then, I just wear my shabbiest most tatty apparel, often one last outing for my grubby work clothing before I chuck it in the washing machine.

All to do with the rise of the hipster cyclist with more money than sense.
I did find myself wondering how much suitable underwear which was worthy of them might cost. And then the full outfit.
Suppose it might reduce bike theft - crooks thinking, sod the bike, I'll take your clothes.
